The Dickens Coffee shop has been given a pub a new lease of life! We have invested £100,000 in our coffee and cocktail area. The work has seen the addition of bi-folding windows, new furniture, and a new bar. There is also a brand new cocktail menu with 60 different drinks to choose from. It comes a year after a £600,000 revamp at the pub.
“We had revamped every other part of the Dickens so we thought this side of the business should also have a refurb,” said Julie Spensley, who owns The Dickens with husband Tony.
“It looks fantastic – it looks so different.
“We have had new bi-folding windows, new furniture, and a new bar – it looks like something in New York.”
The Dickens now consists of three different bars – The Main Bar, Dickens 2, and The Cocktail Bar and Coffee shop. It’s a renowned and popular spot – so much so that it was one of the places the Boro squad chose to celebrate promotion in May!
Julie said: “We used to keep the coffee and cocktail side of things separately, but we are now doing them at the same time, all the time. It has been so well received by customers so far.”
