Sugar Ray Leonard is the latest big name to be signed up to host ‘An Evening With …’ at the “The World Famous” Dickens Inn on Southfield Road, Middlesbrough.
Named Ray Charles Leonard, after his mother’s favourite singer, Ray Charles, Leonard was the first boxer to earn more than $100 million in purses, win world titles in five weight divisions and defeat future fellow International Boxing Hall of Fame inductees Wilfred Benítez, Thomas Hearns, Roberto Durán and Marvin Hagler. Leonard was named “Boxer of the Decade” for the 1980s.
The night will feature the boxer talking about his career in an intimate setting of the Dickens Inn “Gold room” with a question and answer session, along with luxurious Buffet & Drinks Reception, Charity auction and entertainment.
Born May 17, 1956 Sugar Ray Leonard is one of the legendary sports icons of the 20th century whose very name epitomizes boxing and conjures the image of a champion.
